In Thursday's league outing, the Hempfield Area Spartans (Greensburg, PA) basketball squad felled the visiting Seneca Valley Raiders (Harmony, PA), by a margin of 52-33.
The Spartans (7-4) will now prepare for their outing against Homer-Center (Homer City, PA). The Wildcats go into the non-league outing with a 5-3 record. In their last outing, Homer-Center thwarted West Shamokin (Rural Valley, PA), 39-28, in a league outing.
The Raiders now own a 3-6 record. They play next when they host Pine-Richland for a WPIAL 6A 1 outing on Monday, January 9. Seneca Valley will encounter a Rams squad coming off a 59-48 league loss to North Allegheny (Wexford, PA). The Rams record now stands at 5-3.
