The Iola-Scandinavia Thunderbirds basketball team scored 50 points and held the visiting Weyauwega-Fremont Warhawks to 34 in the Thunderbirds league triumph on Thursday.
The Thunderbirds now sport a 9-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Shiocton for a Central Wisconsin - East contest on Tuesday, January 10. Iola-Scandinavia will battle a Chiefs team coming off a 69-39 league loss to Bonduel (Bonduel, WI). The Chiefs record now stands at 5-7.
The Warhawks (4-8) will now prepare for their contest against Menominee Indian (Keshena, WI). The Eagles enter the Central Wisconsin - East contest with a 7-6 record. In their last contest, Menominee Indian ran past Amherst (Amherst, WI), 51-49, in a league contest.
