In Thursday's non-league match, the visiting Mackay Miners basketball squad scored a big 52-21 victory over the Salmon Savages.
With the victory, Mackay upgrades its record to 13-1 on the campaign. The Miners travel to Rockland (Rockland, ID) to play the Bulldogs in a 1A Rocky Mountain bout on Thursday, January 12. The Bulldogs come into the bout with a record of 11-3.
Next up, the Savages play the Firth Cougars (Firth, ID) in a 2A Nuclear bout, on Saturday, January 7. Salmon will attempt to upgrade on its 3-6 season record. The Cougars go into the bout with a 6-7 record after their 50-48 league win over West Jefferson (Terreton, ID).
