The Martins Ferry Purple Riders basketball team (Martins Ferry, OH), was overwhelmed 53-19 in Thursday's league battle with the host Union Local Jets (Belmont, OH)
The Jets now possess a 13-0 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Bellaire for a Buckeye 8 battle on Monday, January 9. Union Local will confront a Big Reds team coming off a 51-50 league loss to St. Clairsville (St. Clairsville, OH). The Big Reds record now stands at 7-5.
The Purple Riders (7-6) will now prepare for their battle against Cambridge (Cambridge, OH). The Bobcats come into the Buckeye 8 battle with a 0-12 record. In their last battle, Cambridge was overwhelmed by Union Local (Belmont, OH), 57-10, in a league battle.
