The Mt. St. Joseph Academy (Flourtown, PA) basketball knocked off the visiting Merion Mercy Academy Golden Bears (Merion Station, PA), 47-29 in Sunday's league test.
The (7-4) will now prepare for their test against Gwynedd Mercy Academy (Gwynedd Valley, PA). The Monarchs go into the Catholic Academies test with a 11-0 record. In their last test, Gwynedd Mercy Academy notched a victory over Conwell-Egan Catholic (Fairless Hills, PA), 47-36, in a non-league test.
The Golden Bears now own a 5-4 record. They play next when they host Villa Maria Academy for a Catholic Academies test on Tuesday, January 10. Merion Mercy Academy will encounter a Hurricanes squad coming off a 53-39 league win over Nazareth Academy (Philadelphia, PA). The Hurricanes record now stands at 10-0.
