Waldron Mohawks (Waldron, IN) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Southwestern Spartans (Shelbyville, IN), 41-35 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Waldron upgrades its record to 4-12 on the season. The Mohawks travel to Triton Central (Fairland, IN) to play the Tigers in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 7. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 12-3. Triton Central won 45-32 in their recent non-league bout against Morristown (Morristown, IN)

Next up, the Spartans play the Morristown Yellow Jackets (Morristown, IN) in a Mid-Hoosier bout, on Monday, January 9. Southwestern will attempt to upgrade on its 3-12 season record. The Yellow Jackets go into the bout with a 5-9 record after their 45-32 non-league loss to Triton Central (Fairland, IN).
