The Alleghany Mountaineers (Covington, VA) basketball knocked off the visiting Floyd County Buffaloes (Floyd, VA), 62-49 in Thursday's non-league test.

The Mountaineers (7-1) will now prepare for their test against Carroll County (Hillsville, VA). The Cavaliers go into the non-league test with a 1-4 record.

The Buffaloes now own a 2-5 record. They play next when they travel to Radford for a non-league test on Tuesday, January 10. Floyd County will encounter a Bobcats squad coming off a 69-43 non-league loss to Alleghany (Covington, VA). The Bobcats record now stands at 3-4.
