In Thursday's non-league match, the host New Hanover Wildcats basketball team scored a decisive 66-29 triumph over the Topsail Pirates.
In their next game, the Wildcats meet the West Brunswick Trojans (Shallotte, NC) in a non-league match, on Tuesday, January 10. New Hanover will attempt to better on its 5-1 season record. The Trojans enter the match with a 8-2 record after their 57-42 non-league loss to North Brunswick (Leland, NC).
With the defeat, Topsail moves to 4-7 on the year. The Pirates host Ashley (Wilmington, NC) to meet the Screaming Eagle in a non-league match on Tuesday, January 10. The Screaming Eagle enter the match with a record of 1-4.
