Siletz Valley (Siletz, OR) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Alsea Wolverines (Alsea, OR), 53-42 in a league bout.

With the victory, Siletz Valley upgrades its record to 2-8 on the campaign. The travel to McKenzie (Finn Rock, OR) to play the Eagles in a 1A Mountain West bout on Thursday, January 11. The Eagles come into the bout with a record of 1-10.

Next up, the Wolverines play the Mapleton Sailors (Mapleton, OR) in a 1A Mountain West bout, on Tuesday, January 9. Alsea will attempt to upgrade on its 1-12 season record. The Sailors come into the bout with a 10-2 record after their 36-21 league win over Eddyville (Eddyville, OR).
