Ames Little Cyclones (Ames, IA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Marshalltown Bobcats (Marshalltown, IA), 49-32 in a league bout.

With the win, Ames upgrades its record to 5-2 on the season. The Little Cyclones host Pleasant Valley (Pleasant Valley, IA) to play the Spartans in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 6. The Spartans go into the bout with a record of 5-3. Pleasant Valley won 55-38 in their recent league bout against Central Clinton (DeWitt, IA)

Next up, the Bobcats play the Jefferson Hawks (Cedar Rapids, IA) in a non-league bout, on Monday, January 8. Marshalltown will attempt to upgrade on its 4-5 season record. The Hawks go into the bout with a 2-7 record after their 85-57 league loss to Dubuque Senior (Dubuque, IA).
