The Anderson-Shiro Fighting Owls basketball team scored 60 points and held the visiting Trinity Tigers to 55 in the Fighting Owls league triumph on Friday.

The Fighting Owls now sport a 8-10 record. They put it on the line next when they host Coldspring-Oakhurst for a 3A Region III District 23 contest on Tuesday, January 9. Anderson-Shiro will battle a Trojans team coming off a 77-47 league win over New Waverly (New Waverly, TX). The Trojans record now stands at 18-5.

The Tigers (12-8) will now prepare for their contest against Tarkington (Cleveland, TX). The Longhorns enter the 3A Region III District 23 contest with a 15-10 record. In their last contest, Tarkington was nudged by Onalaska (Onalaska, TX), 76-73, in a league contest.
