The Hornets now possess a 10-13 record. They put it on the line next when they host Van for a 4A Region II District 16 battle on Tuesday, January 9. Athens will confront a Vandals team coming off a 68-26 league loss to Mabank (Mabank, TX). The Vandals record now stands at 8-16.

The Bears (11-12) will now prepare for their battle against Canton (Canton, TX). The Eagles come into the 4A Region II District 16 battle with a 11-11 record. In their last battle, Canton beat Cumberland Academy (Tyler, TX), 58-45, in a league battle.
