The Del Valle Cardinals (Del Valle, TX) basketball nipped the visiting Austin Maroons (Austin, TX), 58-52 in Friday's league test.

The Cardinals (5-13) will now prepare for their test against Bowie (Austin, TX). The Bulldogs go into the 6A Region IV District 26 test with a 15-8 record. In their last test, Bowie was tipped by Lake Travis (Austin, TX), 67-49, in a league test.

The Maroons now own a 7-13 record. They play next when they travel to Anderson for a 6A Region IV District 26 test on Tuesday, January 9. Austin will encounter a Trojans squad coming off a 51-33 league loss to Dripping Springs (Dripping Springs, TX). The Trojans record now stands at 5-20.
