The Bay Springs Bulldogs basketball team scored 47 points and restricted the visiting Newton Tigers to 42 in the Bulldogs league victory on Friday.
The Bulldogs now sport a 11-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Scott Central for a 2A Region 5 contest on Tuesday, January 9. Bay Springs will battle a Rebels team coming off a 50-47 league loss to Lake (Lake, MS). The Rebels record now stands at 7-8.
The Tigers (11-6) will now prepare for their contest against Clarkdale (Meridian, MS). The Bulldogs come into the 2A Region 5 contest with a 9-7 record. In their last contest, Clarkdale edged Enterprise (Enterprise, MS), 57-47, in a non-league contest.
