St. Mary Gaels (Rutherford, NJ) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Becton Wildcats (East Rutherford, NJ), 78-46 in a non-league bout.

With the win, St. Mary upgrades its record to 8-0 on the season. The Gaels travel to Teaneck (Teaneck, NJ) to clash with the Highwaymen in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 6. The Highwaymen go into the bout with a record of 6-3. Teaneck won 62-58 in their recent league bout against Pascack Valley (Hillsdale, NJ)

Next up, the Wildcats clash with the Hasbrouck Heights Aviators (Hasbrouck Heights, NJ) in a North Jersey - Division 5 bout, on Monday, January 8. Becton will attempt to upgrade on its 3-6 season record. The Aviators go into the bout with a 5-3 record after their 72-40 league win over Wallington (Wallington, NJ).
