Kenton Ridge Cougars (Springfield, OH) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Bellefontaine Chieftains (Bellefontaine, OH), 48-45 in a league bout.

With the victory, Kenton Ridge upgrades its record to 8-2 on the campaign. The Cougars host North Union (Richwood, OH) to play the Wildcats in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 6. The Wildcats come into the bout with a record of 8-1. North Union won 77-68 in their recent league bout against Northwestern (Springfield, OH)

Next up, the Chieftains play the Sidney Yellowjackets (Sidney, OH) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 6. Bellefontaine will attempt to upgrade on its 1-7 season record. The Yellowjackets come into the bout with a 5-5 record after their 60-57 league loss to Tippecanoe (Tipp City, OH).
