The Bishop Miege Stags (Shawnee Mission, KS) basketball nipped the visiting St. James Academy Thunder (Lenexa, KS), 48-43 in Friday's non-league test.

The Stags (1-3) will now prepare for their test against Saint Thomas Aquinas (Overland Park, KS). The Saints go into the non-league test with a 4-2 record.

The Thunder now own a 1-5 record. They play next when they travel to Blue Valley Southwest for a Eastern Kansas test on Tuesday, January 9. St. James Academy will encounter a Timberwolves squad coming off a 53-35 non-league win over Center (Kansas City, MO). The Timberwolves record now stands at 6-1.
