Boerne-Champion Chargers (Boerne, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Pieper Warriors (San Antonio, TX), 47-37 in a league bout.

With the win, Boerne-Champion upgrades its record to 20-3 on the season. The Chargers travel to Smithson Valley (Spring Branch, TX) to play the Rangers in a 5A Region IV District 26 bout on Tuesday, January 9. The Rangers go into the bout with a record of 7-10. Smithson Valley lost 63-36 in their recent league bout against Canyon (New Braunfels, TX)

Next up, the Warriors play the Tivy Antlers (Kerrville, TX) in a 5A Region IV District 26 bout, on Tuesday, January 9. Pieper will attempt to upgrade on its 15-7 season record. The Antlers go into the bout with a 11-11 record after their 61-59 league loss to Wagner (San Antonio, TX).
