Riverside Rebels (Lake City, AR) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Buffalo Island Central Mustangs (Monette, AR), 57-51 in a league bout.

With the win, Riverside upgrades its record to 19-5 on the season. The Rebels travel to Earle (Earle, AR) to play the Bulldogs in a 2A Region 3 bout on Tuesday, January 9. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a record of 3-7. Earle lost 86-58 in their recent non-league bout against Brinkley (Brinkley, AR)

Next up, the Mustangs play the Cross County Thunderbirds (Cherry Valley, AR) in a 2A Region 3 bout, on Tuesday, January 9. Buffalo Island Central will attempt to upgrade on its 15-8 season record. The Thunderbirds go into the bout with a 5-10 record after their 60-48 non-league loss to Ridgefield Christian (Jonesboro, AR).
