Calhoun County Saints (St. Matthews, SC) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Hunter-Kinard-Tyler Trojans (Neeses, SC), 73-63 in a league bout.

With the win, Calhoun County upgrades its record to 6-4 on the season. The Saints host Blackville-Hilda (Blackville, SC) to play the Fighting Hawks in a A Region 4 bout on Tuesday, January 9. The Fighting Hawks go into the bout with a record of 4-5. Blackville-Hilda lost 67-66 in their recent league bout against Williston-Elko (Williston, SC)

Next up, the Trojans play the Wagener-Salley War Eagles (Wagener, SC) in a A Region 4 bout, on Tuesday, January 9. Hunter-Kinard-Tyler will attempt to upgrade on its 7-6 season record. The War Eagles go into the bout with a 0-10 record after their 68-36 league loss to Ridge Spring-Monetta (Monetta, SC).
