Capital Cougars (Charleston, WV) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting South Charleston Black Eagles (South Charleston, WV), 67-60 in a league bout.

With the win, Capital upgrades its record to 1-4 on the season. The Cougars host Huntington (Huntington, WV) to face the Highlanders in a Mountain State game on Wednesday, January 17. The Highlanders enter the game with a record of 4-3.

With the defeat, South Charleston moves to 4-4 on the year. The Black eagles travel to Cabell Midland (Ona, WV) to face the Knights in a Mountain State game on Tuesday, January 9. The Knights enter the game with a record of 3-5. Cabell Midland lost 68-64 in their recent non-league game against Greenbrier East (Lewisburg, WV)
