Columbia Bruins (White Salmon, WA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Castle Rock Rockets (Castle Rock, WA), 61-51 in a league bout.

With the win, Columbia upgrades its record to 4-8 on the season. The Bruins host Riverside (Boardman, OR) to clash with the Pirates in a non-league bout on Monday, January 8. The Pirates go into the bout with a record of 14-2.

Next up, the Rockets clash with the Seton Catholic Cougars (Vancouver, WA) in a 1A Trico bout, on Wednesday, January 10. Castle Rock will attempt to upgrade on its 2-8 season record. The Cougars go into the bout with a 6-5 record after their 55-47 league win over La Center (La Center, WA).
