St. Mary's Spartans (Lynn, MA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Cathedral Panthers (Boston, MA), 61-47 in a league bout.

With the win, St. Mary's upgrades its record to 6-1 on the season. The Spartans travel to East Boston (East Boston, MA) to play the Jets in a non-league bout on Wednesday, January 10. The Jets go into the bout with a record of 3-4. East Boston won 73-21 in their recent non-league bout against Green Academy (Brighton, MA)

Next up, the Panthers play the Bishop Feehan Shamrocks (Attleboro, MA) in a Catholic Central - Large bout, on Friday, January 12. Cathedral will attempt to upgrade on its 2-4 season record. The Shamrocks go into the bout with a 1-4 record after their 67-60 non-league loss to Walpole (Walpole, MA).
