Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Coalfield Yellow Jackets (Coalfield, TN) and the visiting Sunbright Tigers (Sunbright, TN), saw Coalfield's basketball squad hold off Sunbright by a count of 71-66.
With the victory, Coalfield upgrades its record to 1-9 on the campaign. The Yellow Jackets host Oliver Springs (Oliver Springs, TN) to play the Bobcats in a 1A District 3 challenge on Friday, January 12. The Bobcats come into the challenge with a record of 9-7.
Next up, the Tigers play the Maryville Christian Eagles (Maryville, TN) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, January 9. Sunbright will attempt to upgrade on its 4-9 season record. The Eagles come into the challenge with a 15-5 record after their 68-45 non-league win over Greenback (Greenback, TN).
