Cumberland Dukes (Cumberland, VA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Lunenburg Central Chargers (Victoria, VA), 68-53 in a league bout.

With the win, Cumberland upgrades its record to 4-5 on the season. The Dukes host Buckingham (Buckingham, VA) to play the Knights in a James River bout on Wednesday, January 10. The Knights go into the bout with a record of 6-4. Buckingham won 53-51 in their recent league bout against Prince Edward County (Farmville, VA)

Next up, the Chargers play the Amelia County Raiders (Amelia Court House, VA) in a James River bout, on Thursday, January 11. Lunenburg Central will attempt to upgrade on its 2-5 season record.
