Elmira Express (Elmira, NY) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Ithaca Little Red (Ithaca, NY), 77-57 in a league bout.

With the win, Elmira upgrades its record to 4-3 on the season. The Express host New Rochelle (New Rochelle, NY) to clash with the Huguenots in a non-league bout on Thursday, January 11. The Huguenots go into the bout with a record of 7-1. New Rochelle won 56-42 in their recent non-league bout against Harrison (Harrison, NY)

Next up, the Little Red clash with the Horseheads Blue Raiders (Horseheads, NY) in a Section 4 Southern Tier - West bout, on Thursday, January 11. Ithaca will attempt to upgrade on its 1-4 season record. The Blue Raiders go into the bout with a 1-4 record after their 54-50 non-league loss to Mt. St. Michael Academy (Bronx, NY).
