Marfa Shorthorns (Marfa, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Fort Davis Indians (Fort Davis, TX), 1-0 in a league bout.

With the win, Marfa upgrades its record to 5-9 on the season. The Shorthorns travel to Van Horn (Van Horn, TX) to clash with the Eagles in a 1A Region II District 9 bout on Tuesday, January 9. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 14-6. Van Horn won 42-23 in their recent league bout against Balmorhea (Balmorhea, TX)

Next up, the Indians clash with the Van Horn Eagles (Van Horn, TX) in a 1A Region II District 9 bout, on Friday, January 12. Fort Davis will attempt to upgrade on its 0-8 season record.
