Franklin Academy Huskies (Malone, NY) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Gouverneur Wildcats (Gouverneur, NY), 70-56 in a league bout.

With the win, Franklin Academy upgrades its record to 8-3 on the season. The Huskies host Potsdam (Potsdam, NY) to clash with the Sandstoners in a Section 10 Central bout on Monday, January 8. The Sandstoners go into the bout with a record of 7-3. Potsdam lost 54-51 in their recent non-league bout against Sackets Harbor Central (Sackets Harbor, NY)

Next up, the Wildcats clash with the Massena Raiders (Massena, NY) in a Section 10 Central bout, on Monday, January 8. Gouverneur will attempt to upgrade on its 5-5 season record. The Raiders go into the bout with a 6-3 record after their 64-34 league win over Ogdensburg Free Academy (Ogdensburg, NY).
