Holmes Huskies (San Antonio, TX) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Taft Raiders (San Antonio, TX), 65-61 in a league bout.

With the victory, Holmes upgrades its record to 9-13 on the campaign. The Huskies host Brennan (San Antonio, TX) to play the Bears in a 6A Region IV District 29 bout on Tuesday, January 9. The Bears come into the bout with a record of 18-4. Brennan won 77-39 in their recent league bout against Sotomayor (San Antonio, TX)

Next up, the Raiders play the Jay Mustangs (San Antonio, TX) in a 6A Region IV District 29 bout, on Tuesday, January 9. Taft will attempt to upgrade on its 7-16 season record. The Mustangs come into the bout with a 16-4 record after their 91-77 league win over Harlan (San Antonio, TX).
