California High School Basketball - Monarch thwarts Horizon Prep

January 5, 2024: Rancho Santa Fe, CA 92067

The Monarch Royals (San Diego, CA) basketball knocked off the host Horizon Prep Lions (Rancho Santa Fe, CA), 41-31 in Friday's non-league test.

The Royals (7-4) will now prepare for their test against San Diego Academy (National City, CA). The Cavaliers go into the Pioneer test with a 2-5 record. In their last test, San Diego Academy went down by Escondido Adventist Academy (Escondido, CA), 52-26, in a non-league test.

The Lions now own a 2-12 record. They play next when they travel to O'Farrell Charter for a Summit test on Tuesday, January 9. Horizon Prep will encounter a Falcons squad coming off a 47-37 non-league win over Holtville (Holtville, CA). The Falcons record now stands at 7-9.
