In Friday's non-league match, the visiting Jenkins County War Eagles basketball team scored a decisive 62-26 triumph over the Metter Tigers.

In their next game, the War Eagles meet the McIntosh County Academy Buccaneers (Darien, GA) in a A D2 Region 3 match, on Tuesday, January 9. Jenkins County will attempt to better on its 9-2 season record. The Buccaneers enter the match with a 8-4 record after their 57-50 non-league win over Claxton (Claxton, GA).

With the defeat, Metter moves to 5-5 on the year. The Tigers host Islands (Savannah, GA) to meet the Sharks in a non-league match on Saturday, January 6. The Sharks enter the match with a record of 5-5. Islands lost 68-49 in their recent league match against Benedictine (Savannah, GA)
