Keokuk Chiefs (Keokuk, IA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Kirksville Tigers (Kirksville, MO), 53-47 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Keokuk upgrades its record to 10-2 on the season. The Chiefs host Fort Madison (Fort Madison, IA) to clash with the Bloodhounds in a Southeast bout on Tuesday, January 9. The Bloodhounds go into the bout with a record of 4-5. Fort Madison won 63-55 in their recent non-league bout against Central Lee (Donnellson, IA)

Next up, the Tigers clash with the Palmyra Panthers (Palmyra, MO) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 9. Kirksville will attempt to upgrade on its 5-3 season record. The Panthers go into the bout with a 12-1 record after their 66-43 non-league win over Canton (Canton, MO).
