Wittenberg-Birnamwood Chargers (Wittenberg, WI) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Manawa Wolves (Manawa, WI), 49-47 in a league bout.

With the victory, Wittenberg-Birnamwood upgrades its record to 6-4 on the campaign. The Chargers travel to Xavier (Appleton, WI) to play the Hawks in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 9. The Hawks come into the bout with a record of 11-1. Xavier won 63-60 in their recent non-league bout against Fox Valley Lutheran (Appleton, WI)

Next up, the Wolves play the Marion Mustangs (Marion, WI) in a non-league bout, on Monday, January 8. Manawa will attempt to upgrade on its 6-6 season record. The Mustangs come into the bout with a 8-3 record after their 55-39 non-league win over Tomahawk (Tomahawk, WI).
