The Saints come into the challenge with a record of 17-3. Briarcrest Christian won 76-41 in their recent non-league challenge against Hartfield Academy (Flowood, MS)

Next up, the Tigers confront the Edcouch-Elsa Yellowjackets (Edcouch, TX) in a 5A Region IV District 32 challenge, on Tuesday, January 9. Mercedes will attempt to improve on its 5-13 season record. The Yellowjackets come into the challenge with a 9-10 record after their 70-38 league loss to Veterans Memorial (Brownsville, TX).
