In Friday's non-league outing, the Wheeling Central Catholic Maroon Knights (Wheeling, WV) basketball squad overwhelmed the visiting Notre Dame Fighting Irish (Clarksburg, WV), by a margin of 82-51.
The Maroon Knights (9-1) will now prepare for their outing against St. Marys (St. Marys, WV). The Blue Devils go into the non-league outing with a 3-4 record. In their last outing, St. Marys was trounced by Marietta (Marietta, OH), 64-29, in a non-league outing.
The Fighting Irish now own a 3-6 record. They play next when they travel to Tygarts Valley for a Mason-Dixon outing on Tuesday, January 9. Notre Dame will clash with a Bulldogs squad coming off a 58-48 non-league loss to Clay-Battelle (Blacksville, WV). The Bulldogs record now stands at 1-4.
