The St. Monica Mariners basketball team (Santa Monica, CA), was nudged 55-53 in Friday's league battle with the visiting Paraclete Spirits (Lancaster, CA)

The Spirits now sport a 16-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Salesian for a Camino Real battle on Wednesday, January 10. Paraclete will battle a Mustangs team coming off a 60-48 non-league win over Roosevelt (Los Angeles, CA). The Mustangs record now stands at 8-10.

The Mariners (12-8) will now prepare for their battle against Bishop Amat (La Puente, CA). The Lancers enter the Camino Real match with a 16-5 record. In their last match, Bishop Amat nudged Cathedral (Los Angeles, CA), 85-43, in a league match.
