The Pope John Paul II Jaguars basketball team scored 59 points and held the visiting Pearl River Rebels to 40 in the Jaguars non-league triumph on Friday.
The Jaguars now sport a 13-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host Ascension Catholic for a non-league contest on Saturday, January 6. Pope John Paul II will meet a Bulldogs team coming off a 64-41 non-league loss to St. Amant (St. Amant, LA). The Bulldogs record now stands at 3-6.
The Rebels (7-9) will now prepare for their contest against Belle Chasse (Belle Chasse, LA). The Cardinals enter the non-league contest with a 12-7 record. In their last contest, Belle Chasse ran past Lakeshore (Mandeville, LA), 65-63, in a non-league contest.
