New Mexico High School Basketball - Albuquerque Academy nips Rio Grande

Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Albuquerque Academy Chargers (Albuquerque, NM) and the host Rio Grande Ravens (Albuquerque, NM), saw Albuquerque Academy's basketball squad hold off Rio Grande by a tally of 53-49.

With the victory, Albuquerque Academy improves its record to 7-2 on the campaign. The Chargers travel to Robertson (Las Vegas, NM) to play the Cardinals in a non-league challenge on Thursday, January 11. The Cardinals come into the challenge with a record of 5-5.

Next up, the Ravens play the Sandia Prep Sundevils (Albuquerque, NM) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, January 6. Rio Grande will attempt to improve on its 4-7 season record. The Sundevils come into the challenge with a 3-6 record after their 52-25 non-league loss to Pecos (Pecos, NM).
