The Elba Tigers basketball team (Elba, AL), was toppled 67-59 in Friday's non-league battle with the visiting Ariton Purple Cats (Ariton, AL)
The Purple Cats now possess a 5-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Abbeville for a 2A Area 3 battle on Tuesday, January 9. Ariton will confront a Yellowjackets team coming off a 41-38 non-league win over Randolph-Clay (Cuthbert, GA). The Yellowjackets record now stands at 14-2.
The Tigers (10-4) will now prepare for their battle against Houston County (Columbia, AL). The Lions come into the 1A Area 2 battle with a 4-7 record. In their last battle, Houston County was toppled by Emmanuel Christian (Dothan, AL), 45-26, in a non-league battle.
