Pleasant Valley Spartans (Pleasant Valley, IA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Central DeWitt (DeWitt, IA), 60-52 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Pleasant Valley upgrades its record to 10-3 on the season. The Spartans host Clinton (Clinton, IA) to clash with the River Kings in a Mississippi bout on Tuesday, January 9. The River Kings go into the bout with a record of 2-11. Clinton won 41-36 in their recent non-league bout against Rockridge (Taylor Ridge, IL)

Next up, the clash with the Alleman Pioneers (Rock Island, IL) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 6. Central DeWitt will attempt to upgrade on its 9-3 season record. The Pioneers go into the bout with a 18-2 record after their 56-48 league win over Galesburg (Galesburg, IL).
