In Friday's non-league outing, the Cumberland Gap Panthers (Cumberland Gap, TN) basketball squad felled the host Claiborne Bulldogs (New Tazewell, TN), by a margin of 54-45.

The Panthers (8-4) will now prepare for their outing against Union County (Maynardville, TN). The Patriots go into the 3A District 4 outing with a 9-5 record.

The Bulldogs now own a 5-11 record. They play next when they host Grainger for a 3A District 2 outing on Tuesday, January 9. Claiborne will clash with a Grizzlies squad coming off a 50-46 non-league loss to South Greene (Greeneville, TN). The Grizzlies record now stands at 5-11.
