With the victory, East Rankin Academy improves its record to 25-4 on the campaign. The Patriots host Simpson Academy (Mendenhall, MS) to confront the Cougars in a MAIS 5A District 2 challenge on Tuesday, January 9. The Cougars come into the challenge with a record of 15-8. Simpson Academy won 51-42 in their recent league challenge against Leake Academy (Madden, MS)

Next up, the Jaguars confront the Lamar Raiders (Meridian, MS) in a MAIS 5A District 2 challenge, on Tuesday, January 9. Wayne Academy will attempt to improve on its 4-14 season record. The Raiders come into the challenge with a 8-10 record after their 39-25 league win over Park Place Christian Academy (Pearl, MS).
