Highlands Scots (North Highlands, CA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Esparto Spartans (Esparto, CA), 52-16 in a league bout.

With the win, Highlands upgrades its record to 2-8 on the season. The Scots travel to San Juan (Citrus Heights, CA) to play the Spartans in a Sierra Delta League bout on Tuesday, January 9. The Spartans go into the bout with a record of 0-8. San Juan lost 2-0 in their recent non-league bout against Armijo (Fairfield, CA)

Next up, the Spartans play the Rio Vista Rams (Rio Vista, CA) in a Sierra Delta League bout, on Tuesday, January 9. Esparto will attempt to upgrade on its 0-8 season record. The Rams go into the bout with a 7-8 record after their 52-37 league win over Golden Sierra (Garden Valley, CA).
