In Friday's league match, the host Harlingen South Hawks basketball team scored a good 37-17 triumph over the Weslaco East Wildcats.
In their next game, the Hawks meet the Veterans Memorial Chargers (Brownsville, TX) in a 5A Region IV District 32 match, on Tuesday, January 9. Harlingen South will attempt to better on its 18-8 season record. The Chargers enter the match with a 24-5 record after their 79-29 league win over Edcouch-Elsa (Edcouch, TX).
With the defeat, Weslaco East moves to 3-10 on the year. The Wildcats travel to Porter (Brownsville, TX) to meet the Cowboys in a 5A Region IV District 32 match on Tuesday, January 9. The Cowboys enter the match with a record of 1-16.
