The Hiawatha Red Hawks (Hiawatha, KS) basketball knocked off the host Royal Valley Panthers (Hoyt, KS), 45-30 in Friday's non-league test.

The Red Hawks (2-5) will now prepare for their test against Sabetha (Sabetha, KS). The Bluejays go into the Big Seven test with a 1-6 record. In their last test, Sabetha went down by Holton (Holton, KS), 36-23, in a non-league test.

The Panthers now own a 2-5 record. They play next when they host Jefferson West for a non-league test on Tuesday, January 9. Royal Valley will encounter a Tigers squad coming off a 38-26 non-league loss to Nemaha Central (Seneca, KS). The Tigers record now stands at 3-4.
