Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Port Gibson Blue Waves (Port Gibson, MS) and the visiting Jefferson County Tigers (Fayette, MS), saw Port Gibson's basketball squad wallop Jefferson County by a count of 53-25.
With the victory, Port Gibson upgrades its record to 11-6 on the campaign. The Blue Waves host Wesson (Wesson, MS) to play the Cobras in a 3A Region 7 challenge on Friday, January 12. The Cobras come into the challenge with a record of 9-7.
Next up, the Tigers play the South Pike Eagles (Magnolia, MS) in a 3A Region 7 challenge, on Tuesday, January 9. Jefferson County will attempt to upgrade on its 2-12 season record. The Eagles come into the challenge with a 12-5 record after their 60-30 league win over Wesson (Wesson, MS).
