The Vel Phillips Memorial Spartans (Madison, WI) basketball knocked off the host Madison East Purgolders (Madison, WI), 56-47 in Friday's league test.
The Spartans (9-4) will now prepare for their test against Middleton (Middleton, WI). The Cardinals go into the Big Eight test with a 3-11 record. In their last test, Middleton notched a victory over Janesville Parker (Janesville, WI), 64-35, in a league test.
