The Velma-Alma Comets basketball team scored 39 points and held the visiting Marietta Indians to 33 in the Comets non-league triumph on Friday.

The Comets now sport a 4-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Ringling for a Oilfield contest on Saturday, January 6. Velma-Alma will meet a Blue Devils team coming off a 56-16 non-league win over Little Axe (Norman, OK). The Blue Devils record now stands at 2-6.

The Indians (4-9) will now prepare for their contest against Lone Grove (Lone Grove, OK). The Longhorns enter the Lake Country contest with a 7-3 record. In their last contest, Lone Grove was nudged by Plainview (Ardmore, OK), 56-38, in a league contest.
