The Newton Rams (Covington, GA) basketball knocked off the host South Gwinnett Comets (Snellville, GA), 43-23 in Friday's league test.
The Rams (8-7) will now prepare for their test against Brookwood (Snellville, GA). The Broncos go into the AAAAAAA Region 4 test with a 4-12 record. In their last test, Brookwood went down by Grayson (Loganville, GA), 61-28, in a league test.
The Comets now own a 5-8 record. They play next when they travel to Parkview for a AAAAAAA Region 4 test on Tuesday, January 9. South Gwinnett will encounter a Panthers squad coming off a 60-28 league loss to Archer (Lawrenceville, GA). The Panthers record now stands at 9-8.
