Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Walnut Wildcats (Walnut, MS) and the visiting Pine Grove Panthers (Ripley, MS), saw Walnut's basketball squad wallop Pine Grove by a tally of 67-35.

The Wildcats (10-5) will now prepare for their test against Blue Mountain (Blue Mountain, MS). The Cougars go into the non-league test with a 18-1 record. In their last test, Blue Mountain walloped Ripley (Ripley, MS), 62-36, in a non-league test.

The Panthers now own a 8-7 record. They play next when they host Myrtle for a 1A Region 2 test on Tuesday, January 9. Pine Grove will encounter a Hawks squad coming off a 40-35 league win over Byers (Holly Springs, MS). The Hawks record now stands at 9-10.
